There is a parable about a good Samaritan helping a man that was robbed as he was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. Please read Luke 10:25-37.
I chose only two verses for the post to tell what the Samaritan actually did for the gentleman.
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
The Samaritan not only bandaged the man but took him to a safe place (an inn) and took care of his needs. The following day, he also then paid the innkeeper and told him to charge him for any extra expense needed for the man’s care.
I think this is a wonderful story about how we should treat our family especially our husband.
Your husband is going to fall and stumble during his walk with Christ. He may have a bad day at work, lose his job, get hurt, and so forth. When things happen to your husband, think of the good Samaritan. He gave his time, money, and possessions (oil and wine) to help the injured man. I encourage you to have the same mind towards your husband when you see him down.
